BIO
Born in Trentino, Italy in 1979, Claudio Gobber grew up in the magnificent valleys of Primiero and Vanoi. Inspired by the work of Trentino and South Tyrolean artists from a young age, including Riccardo Schweizer, Simone Turra, and Giuliano Orsingher. He recognises himself as a sculptor, painter, photographer, and designer with a passion for new technologies.
While art has always been his Yin, business was his Yang. After a period of studying in Milan, where he obtained a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Advertising, he moved to London, where he lived for 10 years. During his time in the city he was immersed in the world of photography, practicing the techniques his grandfather taught him as a young boy. This modern adventure was intersected by regular sessions in the mountain studio where he continued to paint and sculpt. Here Gobber balanced the frenzy of London by embracing the local woods that dominate the landscape near his family home.
After time in Switzerland and Spain, Gobber returned to Trentino where he continued to develop his paintings producing numerous acrylic works, and at this time, he developed an inclination towards creating clay sculptures. Indeed his art is strongly influenced by many different genres including digital works and NFTs emerging from the Crypto movement, and Gobber has a particular interest in the use of Generative Art software and VR platforms. He is fascinated with how physical art can be enhanced and re-interpreted in a digital space.
His artistic journey has encompassed both traditional techniques and digital experimentation, fuelled by curiosity. He aims to push the boundaries of his creativity, producing aesthetically positive and conceptually stimulating works. This can be distilled into his artistic mission “The Art of Distilling Time”. Through his various projects, Gobber wants to capture essential human aspects of the contemporary era. Each subsequent collection will delve into a different theme, offering a fresh and unique perspective that resonates with the artist's evolving vision of modern humanity and how humans interact with the radically shifting reality they occupy.
His intention is not to dictate beliefs, but rather to cultivate awareness of these crucial dialogues and inspire individuals to form their own considered viewpoints. Encouraging the audience to draw upon the wealth of knowledge at their disposal, to facilitate the development of meaningful and substantiated perspectives. This is as true for future generations as for current audiences, with his art serving as an anthropological time capsule for this rapidly changing society.
